Mu Ye's Darling Is Both Sweet and Fierce EP1
Mu Ye's Darling Is Both Sweet and Fierce (慕爺的小祖宗可甜可颯)
Chapter 1: Rebirth
“I have seen spring and Jingming. I have walked through the darkest corners of the world. And you… you are the final warmth God has granted me.”
— Gu Shilan
It was a night drenched in heavy rain.
The storm blurred the city in a curtain of mist. The streets were gloomy, and the darkness weighed heavily in the air.
In the outskirts, a loud bang echoed from an abandoned warehouse—only to be instantly swallowed by the downpour.
Inside the warehouse, a young girl lay collapsed on the cold floor. Her hair was disheveled, her forehead smeared with blood, and her body motionless. She looked no different from a corpse.
“Damn it! We were supposed to kidnap the Lin family’s daughter—not this useless, unwanted stray! Now the whole plan is ruined!” one kidnapper cursed furiously.
“What's the point of whining now?” another snapped. “Gu Shilan is part of the Lin family. Half-blood or not, they already agreed to pay the ransom. Just stick to the plan.”
“Tch. She probably got shot and then faked passing out to mess with us,” the first one muttered, glaring at the girl. “Playing dead like some pitiful saint—pretending she’s the Lin family’s princess!”
He raised his foot and kicked the motionless body. “Get up! Enough with the act!”
A soft groan escaped from her lips.
The girl, who had looked like a lifeless corpse, suddenly stirred.
Her long lashes trembled. Her brows furrowed faintly in pain as she slowly opened her eyes—eyes deep and clear, like still water that hid the ocean’s fury beneath.
“…She’s alive?!” one kidnapper exclaimed in disbelief.
The girl—Gu Shilan—didn’t panic. She simply scanned her surroundings, her gaze cold and calculating.
Pain coursed through her body, sharp and real, reminding her of something terrifying.
Something’s wrong.
I was shot four times… and thrown off a cliff. There’s no way I should be alive.
But here she was—breathing, thinking.
Fragments of unfamiliar memories rushed in, crashing into her mind. She saw another face in the reflection of a nearby broken window.
Not hers.
This isn’t my body.
Her fingers slowly touched her forehead. The truth sank in like ice through her veins.
She had been reborn—reborn into someone else’s body.
“Don’t die now,” one of the kidnappers muttered, unaware of the shift in her. “We still need you for a nice payday.”
Another scolding voice echoed, urging her to move. The girl remained still, her expression unreadable.
But then, with speed and precision that shocked them all, she suddenly caught the leg of the man who tried to kick her.
Before he could react, her elbow came down—fast and ruthless.
Crack.
A bone snapped. The man screamed like a butchered pig.
He collapsed, clutching his leg in agony.
Gu Shilan calmly clapped the dust from her hands, as if she had just snapped a twig.
They had no idea.
In her past life, she was the youngest and only female major general in the military. She commanded her own troops, survived life-or-death missions, and carved out a name with blood and steel.
Until one betrayal ended it all.
Her life. Her power. Her vengeance.
All gone in a flash.
But God wasn’t done with her.
Now, she was Gu Shilan—an unloved, timid orphan raised in her aunt’s home, crushed under years of abuse and neglect.
But their names were nearly the same.
Their lives? Entirely different.
She was no weakling.
And she wasn’t here just to survive.
She would get revenge.
The original Gu Shilan’s pain was now hers.
And her enemies? They would pay, one by one.
