Mu Ye's Darling Is Both Sweet and Fierce EP3
Mu Ye's Darling Is Both Sweet and Fierce (慕爺的小祖宗可甜可颯)
Chapter 3: Encounters
The warehouse was almost empty, save for a single tattered sofa. A man sat there, calm and composed.
Shi Lan eyed the so-called “victim” before her.
He looked to be around twenty-four or twenty-five, with features so finely sculpted they seemed carved from stone. His sharply defined contours and deep brown eyes held an almost infinite depth, as if they could swallow the entire universe whole.
He wore a grey-black casual jacket, clean and tidy. Despite the rundown surroundings, the noble air around him was impossible to miss—majestic and aloof, like a mountain too tall to climb.
If it weren’t for the thick rope binding his wrists, Shi Lan would’ve thought he was just there for a leisurely rest.
Shi Lan had seen all kinds of men during her previous life in the military. She’d encountered every type of aura imaginable.
Still, she had to admit—this man had the most striking face she’d seen in both lifetimes.
Even though he was fully clothed, the sharpness of his physique was undeniable—strong, lean, and perfectly conditioned. He was easily on par with any elite soldier who had undergone strict physical training.
The man met her gaze and raised his tied hands slightly.
“Untie me.”
The way he spoke—it wasn’t a plea. It was a command. Like a king addressing a servant from his throne.
Shi Lan arched a brow. She stepped up to him and bent down slightly. Just as he thought she was going to free him, she reached… for the tissue box next to him.
Calmly, she pulled out a few sheets and began dabbing the blood from her forehead—completely ignoring the man beside her, as if he were invisible.
These kidnappers were clearly amateurs.
Trying to ransom from two families at once?
She was covered in wounds and looked like a mess. And this guy? He was sitting like royalty.
Hardly seemed fair.
“Name,” she said casually while wiping at the blood.
Then she caught herself—her old habits kicking in. That came out more like an interrogation.
At her words, something flickered in the man’s eyes. He looked at her, a teasing glint in his gaze.
“You don’t know me?”
“Am I supposed to?”
She searched her memory. No matches.
“Mu Jinsheng,” he said, his voice even.
Mu Jinsheng?
The name rang a bell—but not loud enough.
One of the tied-up kidnappers nearby turned deathly pale at the name.
In the whole of Shucheng, there was only one Mu Jinsheng!
He had just been a passerby, unfortunately witnessing their kidnapping. They’d decided to grab him too. Judging by his outfit and the luxury car parked outside, he had to be someone rich. They figured: after finishing with the Lin family girl, why not score a second ransom?
But they had no idea…
Outside, wind and rain howled. The warehouse was silent, almost eerily so.
Suddenly, footsteps echoed from beyond the door.
Then BANG—the warehouse doors burst open, and a group of black-clad men stormed in.
Shi Lan’s eyes narrowed. These weren’t common thugs. One glance told her—they were trained professionals. A world apart from the idiots she’d just taken down.
Now that’s what kidnappers should look like, she thought, standing up, ready for another fight.
But to her surprise, the black-clad men halted at the door and split into two orderly rows.
A man in a blue coat strode in, holding an umbrella. His eyes scanned the room quickly. When he spotted the man on the sofa, his brows furrowed.
He rushed over and untied the ropes binding Mu Jinsheng’s wrists.
“Big Brother… what happened here?” he asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.
